Naples' culinary scene is set to expand with the upcoming opening of Waxin's Restaurang & Bar at Mercato. Scheduled to open on January 16, 2025, Waxin's will occupy the former space of The Counter Custom Burgers, which closed in May 2022 after a decade of operation.

Originating from Palm Beach Gardens, where it launched its first location in 2020, Waxin's offers a unique blend of Swedish and American cuisines. The restaurant is particularly renowned for its authentic Swedish meatballs, a Scandinavian specialty that has garnered a loyal following.

Patrik Waxin, who co-founded the restaurant with his wife, Tessie, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion: "We are really looking forward to open ASAP but, if it goes as planned, we will open up in late October."
